Game between TUTO and KooKoo, (yes that is their real names), of the Finnish second divison. The score is 2-0 and Minnesota Wild prospect Kaapo Kahkonen is in goal. The puck comes right along the boards to him with a yawning cage, and as the announcer realises he has a chance to score…well… just give it a listen…

You sir, are awesome.

Canadiens Prospect Mike McCarron scores Gordie Howe Hat-Trick in Game 1

The playoffs have just begun, and while many say playoff hockey is tough, some would say the tough get going. Canadiens top prospect Mike McCarron of the Oshawa Generals wasted no time, making an impact immediately with a goal, assist and fight in Game One of the OHL playoffs.

NCAA FrozenFour: Watch the Most Amazing Empty-Net Save you will ever see

ncaa crazyplay

Watch Miami (Ohio) defenseman Louie Belpedio’s ridiculous effort to keep the puck out of the net that has since gone Viral amongst the online hockey communities. He allowed his team to fight another day (another 58 seconds actually) as they had the goalie pulled in hopes of tying a wild back-and-forth game at 6.

He’s hot on the puck’s trail, and catches up to it just in time to lunge with a passionate swing off the post, before crashing HARD into the end boards and being forced to crawl to the bench in survival mode.

The context was intense, Providence was up 6-2 with a few minutes remaining when Miami (Oh) pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. The strategy worked as they scored three straight to make it 6-5 with a minute and a half left.

The worst part? Providence still managed to score an empty netter with just 7 seconds left on the clock. 7-5 Final.

While this year’s Frozen Four has already given us a whole bunch of highlights, but this one has to be the best. This is the epitome of why fans who only watch NHL hockey are missing out on great junior moments everywhere. When was the last time you saw an NHL player dive like that to save a goal?

But Fou// Charles Hudon marque but magnifique pour les Bulldogs

hudon pic

But Fou//Crazy Goal – Another Lacrosse Style Goal (JR USA)

As @PavelBarber points out, this move used to be considered hot-dogging; shaming the opponent in a classless, boastful way. Though nowadays it seems like everyone can do it, and will if they have the time and space to pull it off.

My personal opinion is what ever the surest way to put the puck in the back of the net is, do it.

16-year-old Owen Harris of the Southern Tier Xpress (NAHL tier 3 USA Hockey) clearly had no qualms about it. So props to him, and the new generation of hockey players who aren’t afraid to ruffle some feathers and bring fans out of their seats.

Kael Mouillierat Scores Lacrosse style in AHL

Kael Mouillierat

Watch Bridgeport Sound Tigers forward Kael Mouillierat pull the old lacrosse move as he scores on an unsuspecting (and former teammate) Binghamton Senators goaltender Peter Mannino in AHL action. We’ve seen this goal become much more common in recent years, as Mouillierat even did it himself in his college days, but it’s always still as sweet as the last.

Watch future OHL star go between-the-legs for highlight reel goal

Peterborough’s Jonathan Ang must have been inspired by his teammate, because after receiving a between-the-legs pass in the neutral zone, he picked up speed, and pulled off a between-the-legs dangle of his own before beating London Knights goalie Michael Giugovaz across the crease.

Remember his name because the kid is full of dangles. Ang is a very talented player with tons of speed and offensive flair. He just turned 17 and is gaining confidence. He has scored again since this goal, and already has 10 goals as a rookie. He should be a dominant force next season; his NHL draft year.

Quebec Rempart Adam Erne scores beauty 40th of the season on great individual effort

Watch Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Adam Erne power his way to the net as he scores his 40th of the season in spectacular fashion Saturday night in QMJHL action. He now has a career-high 40 goals and 84 points in just 58 games so far this season. Erne and his Quebec Rempart went on to beat Val-d’Or 4-1.
